Guide to Chabrouh Dam

Faraiya - Nature Sights
Chabrouh Dam holds a high reservoir above Faraya and Kfar Debiane, one of the largest dams in Mount Lebanon and a popular open-air stop on the road to the ski slopes. The water, the cirque of peaks and the cold air make it a nature sight in every season: picnic weather in summer, a bright sheet of water against snow in winter. There is no ancient temple here, though the Roman ruins of Faqra are nearby, so many visitors pair the dam with the temples and the Saint Charbel statue. Roads can be icy from December to March. Come for the scale of the landscape, stay back from unguarded edges, and treat it as a viewpoint first.
