Jabal al Salib in Deir el Qamar is the Mountain of the Cross above the old capital, a hilltop cross and shrine looking over the midan, the serails and the road to Beiteddine. It is both a religious walk and the best quick viewpoint in town. Pilgrims and families go up on feast days; photographers go up for the roofs and the valley. The path is short but exposed, so wear proper shoes and treat the summit as sacred ground, not only a terrace. Pair it with the town churches and Herch al Baladye. If you see two listings for the mountain, they point at the same hilltop landmark.
