Guide to Le Temple de Faqra

Mazraat Kfar Dibiane - Historical Places
The temple of Faqra stands at high altitude above Faqra and Faraya, on the road to the ski slopes, with broken columns and a large altar set against the cirque. It is one of the most scenic Roman sites in Lebanon: archaeology in the snow zone, a short walk from the parking area in summer and a different landscape entirely in winter. Nearby are the Temple of Atargatis and, lower down, Chabrouh Dam. Wear a layer even in August and do not underestimate ice on the approach in winter. Faqra makes the point that Roman Lebanon was not only the Bekaa plain. It is a highlight of any Keserwan itinerary.
