Mazar Hamal Allah in Deir el Qamar is a religious maqam in the old capital of the Chouf, a place of visitation distinct from the Fakhreddine Mosque and from the town’s many churches. The Chouf’s sacred geography includes Druze maqams as well as mosques and churches, and this shrine belongs to that fuller map. Dress modestly, ask before entering inner spaces and do not photograph worshippers. The midan, Saydet al Talleh and the serails are the walking context. Including the mazar makes a Deir el Qamar day more accurate than a palace-and-church tour alone. It is a local religious place with a specific name worth preserving.
