Beirut Lighthouse, the Manara, is the landmark tower on the western headland of the capital, above the corniche and the military bathing beach. The light has marked this point of the Beirut sea road for generations, and the name Manara now belongs to the whole neighbourhood of cafés, the Corniche walk and Raoucheh a little further south. The tower itself is a historic coastal structure rather than a museum, best appreciated from the promenade at sunset when the beam and the rocks share the same view. Joggers, families and visitors tracing maritime Beirut all pass it. Combine the stop with Pigeon Rocks and a walk toward Ain el Mreisseh.
