The old bridge at Kahlounieh, Ain Qeni, is a historic span in the same Chouf water landscape as Al Arouss Bridge and the Bride’s Pool. Old bridges in these valleys served mills, fields and the road between villages long before the modern highway. Look for masonry, the line of the arch and the way the path still funnels toward it. The stop is brief and photogenic in the wet season. Do not drive onto structures that are now pedestrian, and watch for slippery stone. Together with the pool and Jisr al Arous, it gives Ain Qeni a small heritage circuit.
