Haret Sakher - Church
Kaniset al Siryan, the Syriac church in Haret Sakher, is part of the Christian mosaic of greater Jounieh, where Maronite, Greek Catholic, Syriac and Latin parishes share the same hillsides above the bay. The Syriac Catholic and Orthodox traditions have deep roots in Lebanon, and a parish church here is a living address rather than a historic ruin. Visitors interested in the variety of Eastern churches can pair it with St Anthony the Great Syriac Catholic church and the Melkite church of St Constantine and Helen. Dress modestly and time your visit outside the main liturgy if you are only looking at the building. The park and the bay are a few minutes away.
