Moukhtara Palace is the historic seat of the Jumblatt family in Moukhtara, a Chouf village set among oak woods and village gardens below the Barouk ridge. The palace complex, with its courtyards and long approach, has been a political address in Mount Lebanon for generations and remains one of the region’s best-known historic houses. The surrounding village has churches, the Chakib Arslan mosque and trails that continue toward the Shouf Biosphere Reserve. Visitors usually see the exterior, the gardens and the village square rather than a fully staged museum interior, so it helps to pair the stop with Deir el Qamar and Beiteddine. For a map of power in the Chouf, Moukhtara Palace is essential.
