Welcome to Niha Temple

The temples of Niha in the Bekaa, above the village of Niha near Zahle, are two Roman sanctuaries in a green valley, smaller than Baalbek and often more peaceful. The larger temple still shows a high wall and podium; a smaller temple stands nearby among trees and water. This Niha is not the Chouf village of the cliff fortress, so the regional name matters. Spring and autumn are the kindest seasons. Combine the visit with Zahle, Ksara or Anjar rather than with a Chouf itinerary. For Roman architecture without the scale of Heliopolis, Niha of the Bekaa is a rewarding historic place.
