Welcome to Raoucheh

Raoucheh, the Pigeon Rocks, is Beirut’s best-known natural landmark: two limestone stacks standing in the sea off the western corniche. The cliffs, the arched rock and the promenade above them are a classic sunset walk, with cafés, corn vendors and the Mediterranean on one side and the city rising on the other. The name Raouche comes from the French rocher, and the rocks are also called Pigeon Rocks for the birds that nest there. It is an easy, free nature sight inside the capital, close to the Manara lighthouse and the Corniche. Photographers come for the late light, families for the open air, and visitors for the view that has defined coastal Beirut for generations.
