St Marie in Naameh is a church of Saint Mary in the town south of Beirut, the Christian counterpart to Abu Bakr mosque and the neighbourhood park. It serves local worship on a hillside many travellers only see from the highway. The stop is worthwhile if you are mapping parishes along the coast or visiting family in the town. Dress modestly and avoid a tourist circuit during liturgy. There is no claim here of crusader masonry; the value is the correct local church. Combined with the park, it makes a brief, human visit to Naameh.
