Guide to Tebnin Castle

Tibnine - Historical Places
Tebnine Castle, Toron of the crusaders, crowns the village of Tibnine in southern Lebanon. It was a major twelfth-century fortress controlling the road between Tyre and the interior, later reused and fought over like Beaufort to the east. The surviving walls occupy a village hill with a wide view. Check current access before travelling in the south, and treat the site as archaeology plus a living village, not an empty park. When a visit is possible, pair it with Tyre’s coast and Al-Bass so the crusader castle and the Phoenician city share one trip. It is one of the important historic castles of the south.
